FIRST IN CARING FOR BODY, MIND & SPIRIT
Our hospice physicians and nurses work with your doctor to manage pain and other symptoms so you can be more comfortable.
Physical, occupational, speech, dietary and complementary therapies – such as music, massage and pet therapies – help increase comfort, peace and the ability to function at a higher level.
Our certified nursing assistants help with bathing, dressing, grooming, changing linens and other activities to assist you and your family.
Licensed social workers help you navigate and coordinate resources available to you and your family. Chaplains and certified counselors provide emotional support and serve all faiths and beliefs.
Medication types and dosages can change frequently during a life-limiting illness. Our expert team manages prescriptions and dosing schedules to keep on top of medication needs. We also provide all medications related to the life-limiting illness prescribed by a physician – and we even deliver them to your home.
Northern Illinois Hospice provides medical equipment and supplies related to caring for the life-limiting illness as needs change. For example, you may transition from a walker to a wheelchair to a hospital bed. We deliver and set up any necessary equipment right in your home. Our responsiveness to changing needs helps ease challenges for you and family caregivers alike.
Trained and compassionate volunteers are in tune with patient needs to provide companionship, give family caregivers a break and assist with a variety of needs, like running errands, preparing light meals and doing household tasks.
