Our Story Is Shaped by Your Story
Putting families like yours first has always been the inspiration that drives Northern Illinois Hospice. Founded in 1979 by the community to serve the community, Northern Illinois Hospice functions on the simple principle that terminally ill patients and their families deserve extraordinary, compassionate care that provides the utmost in comfort, dignity and peace of mind. We focus on honoring your needs and wishes first – so that you can experience life’s final months with the quality of life you find most fulfilling. We continue as the region’s first hospice provider still fully focused on our local community. Our staff is your neighbors who live here, too – and we’re always only a phone call away to respond to your needs first.
A History of Expertise
Established in Rockford, Northern Illinois Hospice was the first hospice provider in our region and one of the first 50 hospices in the nation. Since 1979, we have continually added to our expertise in providing guidance, care and support that best fits our patients’ needs during life’s final months. As the region’s first and most experienced hospice, Northern Illinois Hospice has been setting the standard for quality end-of-life care for more than 40 years. Over the decades, we have expanded our services to care for families in Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, DeKalb, Ogle, and western McHenry counties.
Northern Illinois Hospice is a trusted community partner dedicated to:
Providing extraordinary and dignified care, comfort and compassion to individuals and families at end of life.
Removing barriers to care access so all eligible individuals, regardless of ability to pay and payment source, receive exceptional care and support.
Educating others about end-of-life planning and hospice and palliative care.
Our vision is to be a local and national leader in hospice and palliative care and to enrich end-of-life experiences through our quality, innovative approaches, and supportive education.
