Opportunities
Many face a serious illness feeling isolated and lonely. You can provide companionship to hospice patients in so many ways—listening, reading, playing games, doing crafts, or simply conversing. We work to match patient and volunteer interests.
Caregiving for a loved one can be demanding, overwhelming, and difficult to prioritize self-care and household responsibilities. As a volunteer, you can help by giving family caregivers a break while sitting with their loved one or performing light tasks.
At Northern Illinois Hospice, our administrative volunteers assist us in extremely helpful ways such as, entering data, making phone calls, filing, organizing, and taking on special projects. We can use your help if your interests and gifts match any of these areas!
If you are looking for a variety of opportunities, become part of our community volunteer support group who assists with fundraising events, facility events, and community booth and education activities.
Grieving and bereavement after the death of a loved one is an important part of our care for families. Volunteers help us reach out to and support family members.
