Forty years ago, former Northern Illinois Hospice patient Rich Johanssen co-founded the Try-Beta Foundation, a Belvidere-based group that raises money for nonprofit organizations benefiting children.
This year was the first time in forty years that Rich wasn’t physically able to sell hanging baskets for Try-Beta’s annual Mother’s Day Sale. Rich’s Northern Illinois Hospice nurse Jennifer Ramsby, RN, CHPN knew how special the Try-Beta Foundation was to Rich and his family. With Jennifer’s help, Rich still sold 56 New Guinea impatiens this year!
Thank you to Jennifer and everyone who bought a plant from Rich. Because of your generosity, he was able to continue to live life the way he had for 40 years, dedicated to those he loves and his beloved Try-Beta Foundation.
Rich died April 20, 2016. His family and friends are in our thoughts.
