We’re here to help… at no charge to you
Grief is a very normal reaction to loss and can present itself physically, emotionally, and spiritually within our lives and, at times, seem to come and go. No rules apply when it comes to grief. Each person is truly an individual when it comes to his or her reaction to loss.
Northern Illinois Hospice’s Bereavement Program is designed for the families and friends of our hospice patients and is a continued part of hospice care. Because your grief is unique to you and no single way of grieving applies to everyone, you may find comfort in knowing that help is available in a variety of ways, including personal visits, support groups, newsletters, phone contacts, and various mailings and letters. All of these are offered by Northern Illinois Hospice at no cost to you or your family.
2017 Bereavement Support Groups & Workshops
Open to anyone who has experienced the death of someone close to them, our groups and workshops focus on learning, healing and encouragement. Conversation topics include: understanding grief and mourning, common myths about grief, available resources, the importance of community, helping others to heal ourselves, and self-care. All are welcome. Pre-registration is required for groups and workshops. Call 815.398.0500 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Locations of groups and workshops will be shared during pre-registration.
Please note: new members may join during the first and second meetings of any 6-week session. Shorter sessions are open to anyone who would like to join, however, sessions build upon themselves, so it is best to attend all of them.
